What is GHU?

GHU (Guardian Here For You) is a non-profit for community interest, dedicated to supporting men aged 18-70 in Lambeth. We run peer-led talking groups, mens social activities, and community awareness events.
The two types of groups offer a place for men to hang out, chat openly, offload without fear of judgement, or stigma. A social space offering company, connection, shared experience, emotional support where needed, wellbeing-focused conversations and early intervention to help reduce risk of suicide.

GHU groups are open access and can be attended on a drop in basis, but we ask new members to sign up for a first group by filling in our quick one off online form.

Talking isn't a sign of weakness— it's a sign of strength!
THE STORY
GHU was created by its founder from a combination of lived experience, professional experience, and a deep understanding of the challenges many men face when struggling with self-identity, mental health, wellbeing, and physical health issues...
"Reaching out for support, or just to make friends, can be one of the most powerful steps toward improving mental wellbeing, preventing crisis, and, ultimately, even saving lives. Too often men face life's struggles and carry the weight of difficult times by themselves because of stigma, fear of embarrassment, or simply the belief that, "it's just how men are supposed to be!"   Dean Lemar, 2026
GHU is not a crisis, NHS, therapy, 1-2-1 service, or replacement for mental health services!
